WHICH PRODUCTS WOULD BE IDEAL TO USE PRE AND POST IPL?Updated 6 months ago

With IPL/BBL the skin is really tight, and they are obviously combating pigmentation. These are recommend based on having consulted patients in the past.

There isn’t much I would recommend pre other than stopping a retinoid, do not use sunless tanners, no sun exposure for 2 weeks prior, and make sure they are using a good sunscreen. There are certain medications the provider will review prior to their appointment as well they may need to stop. Drinking alcohol up to the appointment can trigger a larger inflammatory response and they can have more swelling, so I would avoid that too. Hope this helps a little!

Cleansers

a. First few days: Gentle Foaming Cleanser

b. After, resume normal cleanser like Beta Enzyme, or Revitalizing if they are really dry.

Hydrators

a. Dry/mature skin: Intensive Recovery Cream

b. Oily/combination: HydraLite or Ultra Hydrating Booster

Treatment

 Needle Free Serum

 BioPeptide Growth Factor Cream

Sun protection

a. HA Physical Tint SPF 44

Maintenance for Pigmentation to Resume 1-week Post

(would still use other products in post-care like cleanser, hydrator, treatments, sun protection)

a. Advanced Brightening Kit with Hydroquinone and PhytoQuinone Fader (they can alternate AM and PM if they want, using Kit at night and PhytoQuinone during the day)

b. VitaCE with ferulic acid/Radiant C

c. Tretinol Serum 0.5%/any retinoid

d. Can start using MicroDERM Scrub 2-3 times a week about 1.5-2 weeks post; recommend getting a facial with dermaplaning to slough off those “pepper flakes” or pigmentation that is sitting on the surface of the skin.

e. HA Collagen Booster or Peptide Renewal Cream for extra hydration, as needed.
